Community EPR Rollout

The Manchester Local Care Organisation was attempting to roll out EMIS Community across Central, South and North Manchester, which had recently combined to become Manchester Foundation Trust. This was to combine all community clinicians irrespective of specialty onto a single instance of EMIS, and for all same specialties to use the same clinical template for care. As Project Team Manager, I managed the project roll-out and build of the system when necessary and supported the specialist technicians who built the system. It became apparent that the biggest rate limiting step in utilization and transition was the management of the EPR in a clinically safe manner and achieving benefits around performance targets. Therefore, I instigated a workstream where I became the Lead author of a SOP to enable students access to the EPR, as well as developed the process that would allow students to be trained in using the EPR before their placement date. Designed the front-end reports for operational management within community services, to augment the corporate reports produced by the Trusts Data Warehouse team. Designed reports and created the alerting concepts to improve RTT waiting times and critical diagnostic waiting times within the Audiology service which could be used for commissioning bodies. And I also configured and created a clinical documentation audit tool which could be used within the EPR.
